Arrive Kolkata and transfer to the hotel.
Note: Actual program depends upon the flight schedule.
After breakfast drive to Bishnupur and transfer to the hotel. After lunch in the hotel visit the unique and largest Terracotta temples* (Rasmancha, Jorbangla Temple of Keshta Rai, Madanmohan Temple, Shyamrai Temple or Pancha Ratna Temple of Shyam Rai). Later visit the house of Sea shell craftsmen (they cut and curve on the conch shells and depict the Hindu Mythological stories—it is a dying art india due to the hard and time taking craftsmanship).
After breakfast visit the Baluchari sharee weaving village and experience the amazing processes starting from making threads from silk cocoon to making some of the most beatiful handloom sharees. Every family in the village is directly related to this highly specialized art and every Sharee depicts a story from the Indian epics and thus each shari becomes a great piece of art.
After lunch drive through the tribal villages and visit Panchmura Potters Village* - famous for Bishnupur Horse* and other marvellous pottery works. This place is considered the heaven of Indian pottery art as the villagers here produce the finest pottery works in India.
Later drive back to the hotel.
After breakfast drive to Santiniketan and transfer to the hotel. Later visit Visva-Bharati University (dreamed and conceptualized by Maharshi Debendranath Tagore and developed by the great philosopher, poet, writer and musician – The first Nobel winner of India Rabindranath Tagore). Visit Upasana Griha, Dehali, Museum etc. Later back to the hotel and enjoy the local tribal dance.
After breakfast visit Kankali Tala, Silpa gram or Amar Kutir. Walk free in the fantastic local handicraft market. Later visit a ‘Baul Ashram’ and enjoy the Baul music in the unique mystic environment. Later back to the hotel for dinner.
Note: Every Saturday there is an afternoon village fair named Khoai mela (fair). The mela starts from around 15:00 and goes on till about 17:30-18:00 only on Saturdays and is worth visiting.
After early breakfast drive to Kolkata and transfer to the hotel. After lunch visit Kumartuli (world famous for making clay idols for worship. It is one of the most unique and must visit places in India).
After breakfast and check out visit Victoria Memorial, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Indian Museum (optional as it takes at least half a day to visit the museum). After lunch take a ride through the colonial part of the then British Calcutta and later take a memorable boat safari on the Hooghly river (Ganga river) and explore the beauty of the old parts of the city and the unique view of the famous Dakshineswar Kali Temple.
